TERMS AND PRIVACY POLICY
Quality Console – QC ehf

1. Scope
This document applies to the use of the Quality Console software and services operated by QC ehf. By using the service, the user accepts these terms and the processing of personal data in accordance with the privacy policy below.
2. Definitions
The Company: QC ehf.
User: An individual with access to the system.
Customer: A company that purchases the service.
3. The Service
QC ehf provides a digital quality management system and related services. The service is provided “as is”, and QC ehf reserves the right to update or modify it.
4. Access and Use
The user is responsible for safeguarding login credentials.
Use must comply with laws, regulations, and these terms.
Misuse or security breaches may lead to immediate termination of access.
5. Customer Responsibilities
The customer is responsible for:
- Lawful processing of personal data within the system,
- Content entered or uploaded,
- Ensuring that employees comply with these terms.
6. Pricing and Payments
QC ehf’s fees are in accordance with the applicable price list at any given time, and QC ehf ensures that the correct price list is always available on the Quality Console website. No hidden or non-transparent fees are included in any subscription or use of the service.
At the beginning of each month, QC ehf issues an invoice for usage during the preceding month (for example, invoices are issued on June 1 for usage in May). Payment is due seven (7) days after the invoice is issued.
In the event of late payment or default, QC ehf reserves the right to suspend access to the service or limit access (for example, to read-only access) and to charge late-payment interest as permitted by law.
7. Limitation of Liability
The parties shall not be liable for damages arising from this agreement if performance is prevented by events beyond their reasonable control, such as labor disputes, natural disasters, war, laws, regulations, or other circumstances not caused by the parties or within their control.
The service provider is not liable for damages that the customer may incur due to defects or failures in software or hardware, nor for damages resulting from computer viruses, incorrect handling, misuse, or accidental actions by the customer. The parties shall not be liable for compensation for operational loss, lost profits, lost savings, loss of data, or other indirect damages, or for third‑party claims.
Claims for damages must be presented within one (1) year from the date of the incident.
8. Intellectual Property
All intellectual property rights to the software and its content belong to QC ehf.
The customer receives a limited, non-transferable right of use in accordance with the agreement.
9. Personal Data and Processing
QC ehf is the controller of personal data processing in connection with Quality Console.
What personal data?
- Contact details (e.g., email)
- Usage and security data (IP address, logins, logs)
Why?
- Operation, security, and development of the service
- Communication with users
- Compliance with contractual and legal obligations
Legal basis
- Necessity for performance of a contract
- Legitimate interests of QC ehf
- Consent, where applicable
10. Disclosure, Retention, and Data Security
Personal data is disclosed only to service providers processing data on behalf of QC ehf, or where required by law.
Data is retained for as long as necessary for the purpose of processing.
We apply recognized technical and organizational security measures.
Upon termination of the agreement, the customer may request a data export.
11. User Rights
Users have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction or objection to processing, data portability, and to submit a complaint to the Icelandic Data Protection Authority (Persónuvernd).
12. Termination and Changes
The notice period for termination of the agreement is at least three (3) months.
QC ehf reserves the right to update this document. An updated version takes effect upon publication.
13. Governing Law
This agreement is governed by Icelandic law.
Disputes shall be brought before the District Court of Northeast Iceland (Héraðsdómur Norðurlands eystra).
